A Personal Beginning
Ours began with a question no parent ever wants to ask.
Several years ago, Heather's daughter was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes intellectual and developmental disabilities. Like so many parents raising a child with special needs, she found herself thinking years into the future and asking a heartbreaking question.
Who will care for my daughter when I'm no longer here?
A Search Without Answers
A vision born from what was missing.
As Heather searched for answers, she researched residential care homes and long-term living options for adults with disabilities. What she found was more than a lack of information — it was a growing realization that every person, regardless of age or ability, deserves a place where they feel safe, respected, and truly at home.
That search sparked a vision.
Not simply to build another assisted living facility, but to create a home where people are known by name, treated with dignity, and cared for like family.
A Shared Purpose
For a while, it remained just an idea.
Then one evening, during a family birthday celebration, Heather shared her dream with her brother, Dillan, and his wife, Amanda.
Something clicked.
Dillan, an entrepreneur with a passion for building meaningful businesses, immediately recognized the opportunity to create something different. Amanda, whose compassionate heart and natural gift for caregiving have always defined who she is, felt called to the same mission.
By the end of the evening, Aspen Senior Care Homes was no longer just an idea. It had become a shared purpose.
